May Tuesday Topics with Eric Thomas; Former WBTV Chief Meteorologist & Forever Family Ambassador

Join us for our May Tuesday Topics Speaker Series with guest speaker, Eric Thomas.  Eric is recently retired as the Chief Meteorologist at WBTV.  He was born in 1960 and raised in Pittsburgh, PA.  He graduated High School in 1978 from Mt. Lebanon.  Eric graduated Penn State University in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology.  From 1983 - 1984, Eric was the Chief Meteorologist WTOV Steubenville, OH.  From 1984 - 1988 he was the Chief Meteorologist KNOE Monroe, LA.  From 1988 - 2021, Eric was the Chief Meteorologist right here at WBTV in Charlotte, NC. 

Now that Eric is "semi retired" he is embarking as a film-maker and continuing as WBTV Ambassador to find homes for foster children with Forever Family. 

Eric has won the following awards:

Multiple Emmy Awards for Best Weathercast

Deidra T. Lackey Legacy Award (Honors those who sacrifice themselves to help foster children)
